i fuck with bagels so hard white people did one thing right

this post made me want to research the history of bagels and turns out they were popularized in poland by german immigrants. the reason bagels are so associated with (ashkenazi) jews is bc it was illegal for jews in poland to bake bread since apparently bread belongs to christ or smth. but bread that was boiled was allowed for some reason, and thus began a great jewish tradition!
