Oops I’m about to do it anyway. I do understand getting annoyed about people getting excited about trivial things because of a fundamental misunderstanding of mathematics, I really do. I get that way about art and music sometimes. But I believe strongly in keeping those opinions to your damn self and letting people enjoy things. I would never say “liking kitschy things is bad and dumb” about any field! How can you not see how aggressive and mean-spirited that is!
