like unfortunately the way social media functions is one of the most interesting human events to me.
going to start legitimately arguing that we dont need more cyberpunk dystopian novels exploring virtual realities and the secondary divorced-from-material-reality plots which arise within them because we already made that motherfucker
communities which are based entirely online are like some shit where you walk through a magic mirror to discover a parallel universe with wizards. none of this matters but actually? it matters a whole fucking lot. you could argue for days the nuances of what does and does not matter due to the way internet community spreads outward to the hivemind beast of marketing (which is cultures tastemaker!)
